Early and Middle Grade Fiction
Do you have an early or middle grade manuscript languishing at the bottom of a drawer, or maybe the perfect idea trying to burst out onto your page? This writing workshop, targeted writers of early to middle grade fiction, will assist you in taking your beginning a few steps further, or revising your work-in-progress.
Along with learning how to create memorable characters – the key ingredient for a compelling story – you will learn how to use elements in your setting to add yet another dimension to the lives of your characters and set the stage for an engaging story. We’ll also discuss and incorporate additional story elements, including plot, point of view, description, and dialogue.
The weekly two-and-a-half-hour sessions will employ positive, nonthreatening feedback in a small critique group environment. Please bring a simmering idea, or five to ten pages of your work to the first session.
