2013 Writers' Retreat - Collobrières, France
Treat yourself to the priceless gift of quiet, uninterrupted writing time, in an inspiring, and supportive atmosphere in the South of France, not far from the Mediterranean in a small medieval village, Collobrieres. At our 2013 Collobrieres Writers' Retreat, writers will stay in a charming, local hotel, The Hotel Notre Dame, and participate in daily workshops in a private home alongside the hotel.
WHAT:
Eleven days and ten nights with workshop leaders Jessica Bram and Suzanne Hoover and a small, exclusive group of writers, you will spend the days writing in your private room, on the deck overlooking a gentle stream, at one of the cafe's in the town's square or on the terrace of the house where the workshop will be held. Take a short walk with your notebook and find a peaceful place to write in an environment that is centuries old. Or take a twenty-five minute drive through vineyards to the Mediterranean and quiet beaches.
The first two days will be spent getting settled and writing on your own, capping each day with a group dinner in a local restaurant. For the remaining days we will meet every afternoon at 4 pm for a three-hour workshop at a recently restored village house in the center of town. In the daily workshops guided by workshop leaders Jessica Bram and Suzanne Hoover, you will share and critique each others' work. Dinner follows.
Optional afternoon activities will include brief talks on various aspects of craft, writing skills workshops, and informal conversations about writing. We will also take one or two optional day trips, including a beach day on the Mediterranean that includes lunch at L'Estanol, and a second day trip to an historic city.
Writers of both fiction and non-fiction are welcome.

- Ten nights accommodation in a private bedroom room with private bath, including housekeeping, at the Hotel Notre Dame, Collobrieres, France.
- Welcome Lunch
- Daily continental breakfast.
- Three course group dinners at local French restaurants, or at the Hotel Notre Dame, for 10 nights. (Lunches are on your own at local establishments).
- All workshops and retreat activities.
Price does not include:
- Airfare and travel to/from Collobrieres.
(Note: There is a nonstop Delta flight from JFK to Nice, France. Book your flight early!)
- Daily lunches
Want to extend your vacation?
- You may invite a spouse/significant other/friend to join you in your room for the last night of the retreat at no additional charge (excluding breakfast).
