Supportive Environment
We offer friendly, supportive writing workshops designed to encourage, inspire, and spark your imagination. We focus always on the positive to help you discover and develop your own unique writing talent and voice.
No In-Class Writing
All writing is done prior to the meeting to ensure you derive maximum value from each workshop meeting. (Exception: several Saturday Interactive workshops may include brief writing exercises.)
You Choose Your Material
"Assignments" are always optional, designed to inspire your writing. If you have a project in mind or a work in progress, it always takes precedence over "assignments". You will be guided and encouraged along the way.
Interactive Workshops
At each meeting participants read their work aloud followed by feedback and extensive discussion among workshop participants and the workshop leader.
Emphasis on Craft
While sharing your work with others, and in brief, instructive presentations by workshop leaders, you will learn writing techniques and develop writing skills to make your work interesting and enjoyable.
It's About the Writing!
These are not discussion sessions or support groups. Focus is always on the quality of the writing - not on the subject matter.
Small Size
Workshops are limited to 8 or fewer participants to ensure that you receive personal attention and extensive feedback at each session.
Community of Writers
Whether your goal is to become a published author or simply to record your life for posterity, you will become part of a community of writers who share a passion for writing and a desire to master the craft.
